The SLCC Rules were last updated in 2016. Over the past year we have undertaken a full review of our Rules, having set out plans in our strategy and operating plan to ensure that they reflect a digital and paperless focus in operations and engagement with the profession. Alongside this, we have taken the opportunity to make a number of updates to our Rules to increase efficiency and clarify processes.
Detail of the proposed changes is set out in the attached policy note, and the changes can be seen in full tracked on the current 2016 Rules, and in a separate clean copy of proposed updated Rules.
Under section 32 (5) of the 2007 Act, the Commission must consult before any changes are made to its Rules.
