Welcome to the website of the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission. The SLCC was set up under the Legal Profession and Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 2007 to investigate complaints made by members of the public about services provided by legal practitioners in Scotland. It operates wholly independently of the legal profession, and opened for business on 1st October 2008.

SLCC RESEARCH
Following a comprehensive tendering process, the SLCC has appointed Professor Frank Stephen and Dr Angela Melville of Manchester University School of Law to undertake research into the Master Policy and Guarantee Fund and they would like to hear about your experience if you have tried to make a claim for negligence or compensation.
For more information and contact details for Dr Melville, please click Research Project or see our News page for further information.
Their independent report is due at the end of June 2009.
